Douglas Quick
Douglas Quick enlisted into the U.S. Army in August 2000 and served for the next 12 years, including a tour in Iraq in 2006-2007. It was during that tour, that the vehicle SSG Quick was riding in took a direct hit from an enemy rocket. The blast killed the driver of the vehicle and severely injured SSG Quick.
Along with the Purple Heart, SSG Quick was awarded numerous medals and commendations during his service, including the Army Commendation Medal and more.
U.S. Army Staff Sergeant (SSG) Douglas Quick represented his fellow Purple Heart heroes as West Virginia’s honoree during the 2023 Purple Heart Patriot Project Mission.
