George "Mike" Mabe
George "Mikey" Mabe was a member of the Troop A, 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division; serving his country for three years during the Vietnam War including nearly an entire year in country. As part of a combat unit with the 101st Airborne Division, much of his time was spent in the bush, taking part in search-and-destroy missions and long-range patrols.
Reflecting on his service, Mabe called it "one of the most important periods in my life."
