Edward Cruickshank
Edward Cruickshank was commissioned into the U.S. Army in June 1967 and went on to a 30 year career in the service. In 1967, while serving with the 101st Aviation Group in Vietnam, he was wounded-in-action. Following his service in Vietnam, Cruickshank served as a member of the National Guard for the next 27 years, including time in Germany and Hawaii, where he commanded the 29th Brigade of the Hawaii Army National Guard.
Along with his Purple Heart, COL Cruickshank was awarded numerous medals and commendations during his service, including the two Bronze Stars, the U.S. Army Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Silver Star and more.
U.S. Army COL Edward Cruickshank was Hawaii’s honoree during the 2023 Purple Heart Patriot Project Mission.
