A U.S. Army veteran and former police officer from Mercer County was selected to represent New Jersey at the National Purple Heart Honor Mission’s upcoming event to pay tribute to America’s combat wounded.
U.S. Army Specialist Edward Gerasimowicz, of Mercerville, who served in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart, will take part in a multi-day honor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, historic Washington’s Headquarters and the newly renovated National Purple Heart Hall of Honor, according to organizers.
